Today we hit up the water park near our place. I'm pretty sure its going to be my new summer hang. Lazy river, kids play pool, slides and diving boards... pretty cool.

Ty seriously went down this slide like 10 times, he was so dang fast I could never catch him coming out. I don't like the tube slides, they freak me out. I went down, I could only hear myself breathing the whole time. Freaky. Ty said he felt like he was in Disneyland on Space Mountain. Oh Disneyland. Oh Tyler.

we took a trip

St. LuLu has a pretty awesome zoo, the best part is that its free. Yes free. Its pretty much the coolest zoo that I have ever been to. Lots to see, so yesterday after Ty was done with school we decided to go see a few animals.

Little Lyla was totally funny, getting lots of attention from peeps. She is such a happy little thing. This was over by the elephants. It was pretty funny while we were standing there a group of oldies came over, calling the elephants by name, so psyched. They were regulars. What a way to spend your day right?

I think we were a little loopy from the 92 degree weather. Help, its really hot.

So we decided that the zoo is a fantastic place to people watch. SOooo many interesting people, and because its free so many different walks of life come. Its good stuff.

The beginning

Lyla was done…just like mamma

Missouri is beautiful, no doubt about it…. Today I actually felt like we were back in Belize. We were walking this trail and on both sides of us just thick thick jungle. Birds were flappin away, I kept hearing strange creature noises, I totally thought someone or something was going to jump out and attack me.  The forest here is just so thick and swamp like. I have seen the black mamba but today something else freaked me right out. TICKS. I'm not kidden you, after number ten I just quit counting. Those little ninja bugs are fast and on a mission,. On a mission to attack me. After sinking into mud, having a worm on my shoulder, flicking a million ticks off me, I was done. It was one of those days…

It was hot today. Like 90 with some humidity around a trillion.  It felt like 1000 degrees. I thought I was going to melt. 

I went to the grocery store and walked super super slow down the freezer isle, it felt so nice and cold. I wasn't buying anything frozen but I sure made it look like I was. I have a feeling the ac bill this summer is going to be enormous.

9 days later.

Its been raining for 9 days. Finally today the sun decided to peep out. Oh boy was it welcomed. We went to feed the ducks at the park but quickly realized that this was not permitted. The sign said so.  Lame.  Soon a man came with a mini speed boat. He scared the ducks away. He did not make me happy so I asked him what he was doing. He was asked by the city to chase these ducks and geese away from this particular park. Sad huh? Lyla likes the ducks.

Little Lyla is growing so fast.  She is just this mini person who is very curious. She is rolling all over, lovin bananas, carrots, sweet potatoes and loves drinking out of her sippy. 

Tyler and I still loose track of time just sitting around playing, making up ridicules songs, acting like animals and making faces to little Lyla.  We amuse ourselves. She is just so dang lovable.

When Ty plays the guitar she claps, when Maya plays with her toys she laughs. We laugh that we just love her so much we just want to eat her. Inhale her.

may 17th..

How could I not think of where we were two years ago today. How lucky we are. What a different place we are at. What an amazing addition we have to our family. We have many adventures ahead. We are healthy, happy and still SOOO in love.

A new favorite…

 

 

Today we found some yummy treats! Organic Puffs, they are pretty much like the Gerber snacks but I think they taste a lot better… We had only had peach flav and maybe the apple or banana is better,,.. but this new flav is leafy green. Doesn't sound too delish but they sure do taste good! Lyla loves them!

Chesterfield oh Chesterfield

We haven't really taken any pictures of our place yet for its still a wreck. We have been kind of slacken on cleaning up and unpacking. But these are a few from our neighborhood, then today we went for a stroll in Faust park, it was super pretty. We found a big ol’ turtle chillen in the grass. He was cute.  I think its going to be a really hot summer.

Its so green here and warm, I feel like I am on vacation, Tyler likes to remind me that its a 4 year vacation… eyeyeyeeye.

20 something hours later..

We made it! We left Saturday morning and got to our cute place on Monday afternoon. With lots of stops, treats and beautiful scenery the drive really wasn't so bad. We were lucky and had fab weather the whole time. We had some superstar passengers, Lyla and Maya.
