the adventures of Lyla begin !

it all started on monday afternoon when lindsay went to her doctors appointment only to realize that the baby had little amniotic fluid surrounding her placenta. This showed up on the monitor as having little movement, the heart beat was detectable however the graph indicating movement wasn't fluctuating. A bit of concern and scare ended us in the hospital again monday night for the same test and a scheduling ultrasound on tuesday morning at the university of utah. only through the ultrasound could the doctor realize that this little fluid indicated that whom would later become Lyla needed to escape her liquid enclosure and come visit her new family. So the doctor claimed there being no real rush but the baby was coming today. Soooo we went home, went shopping, took maya on a walk, and went up to the hospital at 12:00 pm and watched tv and listened to music till about 5 pm. Doctor I wanna get things done quick so I have a nice nights sleep wanted to start the petocin on lindsay really heavy, which we didn't want and the nurse suggested that we don't if lindsay wanted to birth naturally, so the nurse started her off at a snails pace of labor. At 5, the doc showed back up, released lindsays H20 and then the real business began. I was so proud of Lindsay, she was so much tougher than I ever thought she would have been. She was able to birth Lyla without gettin the needle in the spine (not that theres anything wrong with that !) sienfeld quote for the sssslllloooowww ones. so enough blabbering, lets get to what anyone wants to see our little baby girl. Lindsay protested that I not post many, or any hospital photos for we all look hideous! just kidding, she looked totally hot even after delivery. Lyla snuggling, which is really all she does right now. kinda boring Candlelight dinner offered by the hospital, which was 10,000 times better than their food, some catering service brought it the second night that we stayed in. all things considered what I thought would totally suck about having the baby in a hospital turned out ok, they never took lyla out of the room, even right after she was born, Daddy got to giver her the first bath, and the nurses never bothered us unless we asked them for something both during labor and after. Pretty sweet. snuggler our first visitor. I had to add pete on the post to indicate for those who might think that he is slow, he arrived promptly at 8:00 on Wednsday morning, ready to give lyla some love, thanks buddy. another friend visitor, sorry family there are just to many of you to post pictures of, we still have pictures of you with the baby so you'll just have to hypno-breathe your way through it, hey it worked for lindsay. Except Norma and Boyd, who are so dang cute and rockin in their mid-80's. my three best friends! first chill session outside NO WAY we're forgeting our first little girl. Dad and Maya had to get some alone time a few days after lyla arrived to talk about life and enjoy the beautiful fall time in the wasatch front. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by the cutest girls in my family. This dog still has a huge part of mine and lindsay's heart.

First things first, we want this baby NOW!

in order to attempt at inducing labor in a natural way, we have learned many methods of how this can be done, the first way, ya know,,,,,, that,,,, the second way, rose-hip oil (didn't try), or the third is by getting pedicures. Since I have already had one and I am already a super-softy I din't even put up a fight and was acutally excited about the second one. So we chose the first and third methods for attempting to induce labor (which didn't work)

you need to get one of these suits if you wish to come and see our newborn child, whether at the hospital (which were unsure of yet due to the restrictions of only 1 individual at a time), or at the house, or in the mountains. In the case that you are, these are sold on ebay, the cheapest one I found was $450 dollars. I think with the restrictions at the hospital everyone could pitch in and buy one, then spend like hours at the hospital changing into it. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do right, so think about it ok. j/k

Belly casting session

So Carey gave lindsay a belly cast kit, which consists of lubricating oil and strips of dry casting material which you dip in water and form over whatever it is that your trying to cast, in this case lindsay belly and breasts. Here is a picture of us in the thick of it with lindsay's cast in place waiting to dry. It took three coats of this material to make it thick enough to pull off however, I apparently didn't apply enough body oil onto her entire body resulting in it pulling off lots of hairs when it was removed. Here is a picture of lindsay in the middle of the process in her swimsuit and her newly covered birthday suit top.



So with these casts it is recommended that you paint, decorate, and use them in a fashionable, yet homely way. This we haven't had a chance to do because it is still in drying mode and we aren't really sure what to do with it for its kindof strange in some respects. sooooooo I had to try it on. Well, I mean this is my baby too, I am going through this pregnancy process as much as lindsay so I thought I would give this pregnancy thing a shot and find out what its really like being a pregnant mom for a little bit. Turns out I look pretty good with lindsay's womanliness.



I had to change my pose a few times to get a real sense of what it must be like being a pregnant woman, turns out its really ackward and now I realize why lindsay has been yelling so much at Maya and I. mu ha ha ha mu ha ha ha

quick update on tyler's life aside form school and work

been trying to get myself outside as much as possible and enjoy the fall weather. I have another friend tyler who loves to boulder so I have been going out with him in little cottonwood canyon and enjoying the crisp weather, which until I recently found out is amazing to climb in. If not little c shuts you down! he took his camera the other day and snapped some photos so I figure I'd share em so I can delete them off my work computer. I can't wait to take my baby climbing!!!

The BABY hump...

So I just really cant get over how funny and random people are in this world.. Never, Never in my years of staring at pregnant women have I dared to say much of a comment to them and Never Never Never have I rubbed a randoms belly.. Well, these last couple of days have been quiet the adventure for my belly. Grocery stores, gas stations, shopping centers, paint store, weddings, really anywhere I go a comment about the size of my belly, telling me that I'm having a boy because of where the baby is positioned and people actually asking if they can rub my belly have given me and babe some funny things to laugh about. People just cant get over that I still have a month to go, for I am just "so big that it must be coming soon".... really, people tell me this.. am I that big? the comments are just killing me... baby come soon so the random weird people will stop harassing me..

Cant get enough

I have been waiting for this nice cool weather for some time now, the other day Maya and I took a short hike up Millcreek.. The leaves are changing and the temps are wonderful. I saw a squished snake on the road on the way up so the whole time hiking a was a little freaked out, so the hike ended up being short and sweet. Just enough to get my little heart excited for this fall weather!, MMMM. I love love love it!

Tyler has this thing for chess, I really haven't fell in love with the game yet, I find it kinda boring really. So the other night Ty was trying to make me feel bad for not playing with him and I came across this in the other room... Melt your heart right?

We finally got the baby room/corner painted, (for those of you that dont know the babe will be sharing our room) Ty has been super patient with my random decisions and small "tasks" that I have ready for him to do when he gets home from work..The room turned out super cute but if you want to see the finished product you have to stop by..

Maya likes to give us the stink eye lately... Shes quiet the princess in the house and she just is not sure what to think about all the new baby stuff.

A few weekends ago Ty headed out of town with a few friends to do some bouldering, it ended up that they were all super weak and had to show off their manly man skills by throwing the boulders instead of climing them, here are a few..

Its been hot..

So uh the baby is coming... soon... real soon actually. We have walls to paint, shelves to put up, pictures to hang, a crib to be assembled, and a princess face (Maya) who is going to be need a lot of attention.. Tyler is ultra busy with school and work, oh and climbing too. I have been meditating, cleaning, cooking and playing with princess face... ( I sound like a real house wife right? ).. so AWESOME!! Life is about to get wild, so wild that I keep telling myself that I WILL fit into my jeans again.., oh the day.. Pictures soon to come of the big ball of belly they call a baby.
